I got the highest (out of 2, so a b or a) on my essay and I’ve decided to celebrate by buying the new Nada Surf and Craig Finn records because I haven’t and I feel ashamed.  I’ve also set up my shitty lp player and actually used it for the first time in a year and a half. It feels good.

We had our peer reviews/discussions about our first postgrad essays today and everybody (but one) seems to have done exceptionally well. It felt like such a positive academic experience for us all and a little bit of a hint to a bright future despite all the problems this English department has.
